About Provision Field

We are The Okpobiris

Welcome to our family and our journey toward self-sufficiency in Texas.

Provision Field is our family homestead in Dallas, Texas. We're building toward 100 acres of complete food independence - orchards, gardens, preservation systems, and the skills to sustain our family for generations. Janiece is a former technology executive and homeschool mother of three. Our children are curious, capable, and learning alongside us every day.

We're so grateful you've chosen to join us on this journey of from-scratch living, real food, and building something that lasts.

Janiece's Story

Every day I share a glimpse into our family life as we build toward food independence here in Texas. I wear many hats - mom, wife, former executive, business owner, content creator, homeschooler, and lover of good food made from scratch. For longtime followers and those just joining us, I wanted to tell you our story in my own words.

I grew up deep in the heart of Texas. My path was corporate technology - climbing the ladder, leading teams, chasing the traditional markers of success. I was good at it. I thought that's what I was supposed to do.

But in 2020, everything shifted. I was pregnant with twins and working as a technology executive when the workplace I trusted failed me. That moment made me question everything we'd built our lives on - systems we couldn't control, dependencies we couldn't escape.

My husband and I started asking different questions: What if we didn't have to rely on systems that could fail us? What if we could build real security for our children - not just financial, but food, education, health, land?

So we made a plan. A 10-year plan. By 2030, we want complete self-sufficiency. We started in the suburbs - learning to preserve food, buying from local suppliers, teaching our kids real skills. We acquired land hours away and started building our homestead piece by piece.

When I started sharing our journey online, I called it Provision Field - because that's what we're building. A place where we provide for ourselves through God's help. The products we sell? They're what we actually use. The kits? What's in our kitchen. The preserved foods? Made the way we make them for our family.

This isn't about fear. It's about freedom. The freedom that comes when you know how to feed your family, no matter what. We're still building. We have a long way to go. But we're doing it, one jar at a time.

Sincerely,
Janiece
